Xingyi National Geopark

Xingyi National Geopark was established as a national geological park on January 19, 2004. It is characterized by karst cone peaks, karst landform and ancient dinosaur fossils of ancient fossils. In 2013, it was named “The most beautiful geological park in China”.

 

Xingyi National Geoark includes Malinghe Gorge, Wanfenghu, Nidang stone forest, Dongfenglin, Xifenglin, Dingshang Guizhoulong, Wusha Guizhoulong, Pogang Karst Ecological Protection Area and some other scenic areas. The total area is 1456.10 square meters. Triassic stone forest is the main landscape of Nidang stone forest.

Guizhoulong Dinosaur Fossil

 


Guizhoulong are amphibians which lived, nearby the beaches two hundred and thirty million years ago.The fossils are the earliest of the dragon kind. The East Given Fish Species, the Chinese Really Jaw Fish of Guizhou and Xinyi “Asian Scales Toothfish”and other ancient biological fossils are also discovered at the same place and time . The discovery of the above amphibians and fossils fish play a very important role in scientific research to ancient vertebrate stud, ancient animal geography, ancient ecology and the study on fossils buried school.
