Zhenyuan Ancient Town

Zhenyuan Ancient Town is affiliated to Guizhou Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture. It is located in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River which is among the Wuling Mountains.This famous town is located on the banks of the Wuyang River and is surrounded by mountains. The river passes through the town in an "S" shape. The shape of the whole town is very similar to the Taiji figure. 

Zhenyuan Ancient Town was built in the Ming Dynasty, and some of the city walls and gates still exist. There are a large number of ancient buildings, traditional houses and  wharfs inside the town.

Black Dragon Cave(Qinglongdong)

Qinglongdong Ancient Building Group is located in Zhonghe Mountain, the east of Zhenyuan Ancient Town. It covers an area of 21,000 square meters and consists of 36 single buildings, such as Black Dragon Cave(Qinglongdong), Ziyang Academy, Wanshou Palace, etc. 

Qinglongdong was built in the 21st year of Ming Hongwu (AD 1388) which is backed by  hills and faces river It has both garden charm and temple style. These ancient buildings have adopted various techniques such as “hanging” and “embedding” that are presented with a unique style.

Ancient Residential Building and Roadway

The Ancient Residential Building of Zhenyuan have both the style of the Jiangnan courtyard and the layout of the mountain buildings. This perfect combination of Jiangnan style and the mountains makes the Ancient Residential Building of Zhenyuan as a miracle in the history of Chinese architecture. Among them, the "Waimen Xiedao" is a unique feature of Zhenyuan residential buildings.

The ancient roadway of Zhenyuan is long and deep, and its structure is intricate. These cross-connected, mutually connected alleys form the blood vessel of this ancient town.

Zhenyuan Ancient City

Zhenyuan Ancient City covers an area of 3.1 square kilometers. There are more than 200 places of interest in the ancient city. It is a “traditional culture maze” that is completely integrated by historical sites.

This Ancient City is a diversified and integrated ancient city. The Han nationality and other more than 20 ethnic minorities live in harmony. The mutual integration of various cultures has made Zhenyuan as a multi-ethnic, multi-religious and multi-social museum, which has been called “world cultural protection circle”.
