A particular thoroughfare in the area of the Dong ethnic group with stone piers and wooden bridge floor, terra cotta roof , rains on each side of the floor and beaches for people to have a rest or chat against rain and sun . The most famous one is Dipingqiao in Liping county. It consists of bridges, towers and pavilions and is made entirely of wood. The bridge deck is paved with railings, benches and bridge tiling to form a promenade walkway. The tower and pavilion are built on the stone bridge pier. There are many layers, the corners are flying and the top is decorated with treasure gourd. The name of this building is derived from its function--pedestrians can avoid the wind and rain in it.
Otherwise, the construction of the Wind and Rain Bridge is not only conductive to transportation, but also beautify the environment of the village. So it is also called Huaqiao(Flower Bridge).
