Stilted building(Diaojiaolou) is a traditional dwelling houses of the Miao and Dong ethnic groups in the southeast Guizhou province . This kind of building is built along hillsides supported by long wooden poles with wooden planks as the floors. The most basic feature is that the main house is built on the ground. The wing is connected to the main room in addition to the one side, and the other three sides are suspended and supported by pillars. The rooms upstairs are for family members with the places. There are many advantages, the high hanging floor is both ventilated and dry and it can also be used to prevent snakes and beasts. It also has distinctive national characteristics. The elegant "silk" and the wide "street bar" make stilted building a unique style and leads a higher cultural level.
