Every year on the 18th, 19th, and 20th of the first month in lunar calendar, the Lusheng Festival is held in Gannanxiang in Zhouxi Township, Kaili City. People from surrounding villages, young and old, gather in their finest traditional clothing to play the Lusheng and perform the Lusheng dance. Besides Lusheng performance, other activities like horse racing, bullfighting, and bird fighting are also featured. In winter, the annual Lusheng Festival is held in Basha Miao Village, where the celebrations include rituals, Lusheng competitions, and dances to celebrate the harvest and pray for a prosperous year for the coming year.
